I can buy myself flowers...

I have recently started doing this. At first, it felt frivolous and indulgent, and in some ways, a bit sad. Isn't this something a man should buy for you as an expression of love or simply because he's thinking about you? But then I thought, why not? Why can't I do something gentle, kind, and giving for myself?

Flowers at the market I would buy myself as an act of self-care as a personal trainer

So, while I was at the Saturday market, I bought a beautiful bunch of pink flowers and placed them on my dressing table. I did not intend to gain anything from this process other than to do something nice for myself. However, there is something strangely empowering about waking up and being greeted by a beautiful bunch of flowers I bought just for me. Such a small, simple act lifted my mood and reminded me that I can bring beauty into my life whenever I choose. I don't have to wait for someone else or a reason to celebrate; simply being open to small acts of kindness towards myself allows me to feel free and connected to my femininity- into the 'being' part of my life, not just the 'doing'.

There are many layers to us in midlife, and while much of the content I share focuses on strength training and healthy eating, I am equally passionate about finding small ways to incorporate moments of self-care and taking the time to feel more connected to ourselves and our spiritual well-being. These aspects are as vital to our nervous system regulation as workouts and reducing sugar intake.

By taking some time to cultivate a healthier relationship with ourselves through small acts of self-care, we allow for deeper moments of rest, reflection, and rejuvenation.

' What about you? Would you buy yourself flowers? If so, I would love for you to share some photos.
